DASVATHARAM reviewed!

I thought of making a grand review on this one but could not do it because of the lack of time. Anyway, the movie is very good and in my view, but can be watched twice, only if 'U' did not understand whats going on. Most people wouldn't be able to catch up, if they miss the track.

The story moves on with a decent amount of pace. I felt that the first and last quarter of an hour, of the movie is the story, which was exceptionally good, but the rest of the story is framed up to accommodate the other 8 roles played by Kamal Hasan. Speaking of Kamal Hasan, there is no need for me to mention the acting brilliance and hard work that he has shown. The visual effects were good, but they could be better!

I particularly liked three songs;
  1. Raayani Mathram
  2. Oo Sanam Oo Sanam
  3. Mukunda Mukunda
The other songs were also good. Himesh did a good job as the music director of the film.

My rating- 8/10.

Ringtone!!!

It's been a headache for me in recent times. Yup, the ring tone of my mobile phone has crept up into my ears and is nesting in there. When I am busy on something, I feel that the phone is ringing ... but my mind tells that it isn't.

Fu*kin mobiles & $tup!d ringtones...

Asia Cup 2008

India is in commanding form in this Asia Cup. Hope the form continues till the end of the tournament. In the Kitply Cup, India lost the final purely because of luck....Pakistan's luck. The Indian win over Pakistan proves this.

Anyway, I am hoping that India will win the Asia Cup and silence the critics, showing the world that India can win the finals .... not just enter them.
:D

Indian WC cricket

It has been 25 years since India last won the world cup in 1983, and the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), the richest sports organization in the world is felicitating the members of the 1983 squad. I was watching a debate which was discussing the difference between that team and the present Indian team.

There wasn't much pressure on those guys and they had the killer instinct. This was the deduction of the debate. I feel, ' India was the team to upset West Indies the World Cup in 1983 and on similar grounds, India will be the team to break the flow of Australia in the 2011 WC which is going to be held in the sub-continent itself.'

Ready Review

Yesterday, I went to the movie 'Ready' (Telugu). It did not have any renowned artists except the comedians and it was almost sufficient to make the film a big success. The first part of the film looked to be a normal getaway story.

Ready Gallery

But, the second half was absolutely superb.....the story is not that innovative. The first half is based on new movie stories while the second half is based on the older ones. As simple as that.
:)

There are three elements that really impressed me in the second half:
  1. Brahmanandam's comedy
  2. Hero acting as Spider man and Krish
  3. Its basically a family entertainer unlike other films.

As I've said Brahmanandam steals the show in the second half of the film. He is made believe that every thing he does is because of his sub-conscious memory. And the confusion he suffers within himself made everybody laugh out loud in the theater.

On an overall basis, it can be given a 3.5 outta 5. This movie is really good to watch. I feel that you would definitely enjoy it.

I've also watched the much hyped DASAVATHRAM today. Has it reached the hype. I will put up another review shortly.

Adios amigos!

Euromania

The euro 2008 till now has been amazing. The Russians defeated The Netherlands in the 3rd quarter final clash yesterday. This was totally unexpected but, the Russians definitely had the capability. Their coach Ruus Hiddink has once again showed his class by helping Russia into the semifinals. I was not a very good fan of Netherlands but i liked their attacking play and their concept of total football. Almost, a similar strategy was followed by the Russians to beat them in the quarter finals.

I do not know, what other surprises the tournament has to offer!

Shame

About a week ago, the Indian national anthem was disrupted while it was being sung at the embassy in the USA. Those people felt that the American Anthem should be sung first. This was sad. It is the embassy in which the song was being sung. The Indian Government has all the power controlling the activities taking place in there. There is no point in breaking the schedule of events for such a cause. This is what I feel is necessary to prevent such events taking place again.

The time has come, India is now a very powerful and respected country in the world. But, I feel that the present leaders do not realize this. They fear outsiders, they are not confident. They are very conservative. But, newer leaders, young leaders with high amounts of confidence and attacking approach (in defending the pride of the country) are needed.

Vampire Power

When we say "vampire power," we don't mean the hypnotic power of some black-caped, white-fanged Transylvanian. We mean the electricity your cartoon picture of electronic appliances asleep home electronics and appliances suck out of the power grid when you're not using them.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates the global energy consumption due to standby power at between 200-400 terawatts per year.

Exact figures on total losses to standby power are not available, but the most recent major survey on the subject estimated that in the United States, 5% of electricity usage is due to standby power. In Europe, the numbers run slightly higher: France at 7% and Germany and the Netherlands at 10% each. Australia comes in at 11%, Japan at 12%.

When you replace a piece of electronic gear that's got a big vampire-power factor with one that's more efficiently designed, you save money over the long run. But remember, since power plants produce pollution when they generate electricity for you, reducing wasted vampire power also helps reduce pollution. We'll all breathe easier when the power vampires are dead!

This is what i have learned from a TV show, 'Protecting Our Earth'. So, guys please be active in turning off your TV's, DVD players, Computers, etc. when they aren't being used. Every one of us is responsible for the global warming problem and following these basic preventive measures can go a long way in protecting our Mother Earth.

Portugal Out and Turkey In!

Portugal is out of euro2008, sad for me as i was supporting the team this time. Ronaldo has not played very well this time around. The fumbled many times while dribbling. He did not look to be in the top of his form. Maybe, the defenders marked him more tightly than ever! So, all my hopes are on Spain and Netherlands to win the tournament. I basically like attacking football, that is why I am cheering for these three teams. Germany and Italy have great defense which might be sufficient for them to win the tournament.

On the other hand Turkey, with its 'Never say Die' attitude is working wonders, by disappointing their rivals in the last minutes of the game. I like their attitude very much.

NBA finals 2008

Boston won the NBA finals for a record 17th time this year. It was the Celtics vs Lakers in the finals. The MVP of regular season, Kobe Bryant was controlled by the formidable defense of the Boston team. The combination of Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Pierce has worked well for the team. I actually supported the Lakers but, it was great basketball action. Especially, the game in which Boston came from 20 odd points down to win the game in the fourth quarter.

Mid sem grading

It has been half way through our practice school program. This was the time that we would get our mid-semester grades. It was a very tense moment for us because we thought our instructor would now be a good grader. But surprisingly he has given everyone of us an A grade. All were happy with this gesture.

Tough week

The last three days of the previous week saw the most irritating and busy period in my life till now.
There is this course that I was supposed to do, in which all the people would get an A grade. But, out instructor keeps threatening about the grades every time. So, I didn't have any other go, other than making the report and presentation in the best possible manner. It was difficult but finally I've managed to complete it. After such a tough weekend , I'm finally having A break.

Great Comeback!

Turkey's 3-2 victory saw one of the greatest comebacks in Euro history. They were down by two goals after the first half but were determined to win the match. They played bravely and good football. By which luck also favored them. The scored the third goal in the dying minutes of second half to avoid penalties(as their player has quoted before the match) and clinch the victory.

Biggest Upset!

I biggest upset was waiting to come around... and it was suffered bu the Germans. In their match against Croatia, they were down 0-2 when there were only 10-15 minutes left in the second half. Podolski managed to score a consolation goal at that point but it was not enough for the Germans to avoid the defeat.

Switzerland's 2-0 win over Portugal wasn't considered an upset because Portugal are already through and they were playing only with 3 of their regular players. Yuvraj Singh was obviously disappointed that Christiano Ronaldo wasn't the man of the match. He was the special guest to give away the MoM trophy.

Germany defeated Austria in yesterday's match and qualified for the quarter finals.

Spain

After watching their game against Russia in Euro 2008 .... I have also decided to cheer for Spain through out the tournament ,i.e , if they manage to play through the tourney . But , looking at their present form they look unstoppable . Their counter-attacking strategy is very good and they are really quick to cease the opportunity . The are fast on the attacks , have a formidable defense and a very good goal keeper .

Here ,is their home kit......
miss Raul though .. :)

Sad 4 the Swiss

I believe that the Swiss deserved to win the first match against Czech Republic .They played very well but didn't have the luck on their side as two hand ball appeals ,one inside the penalty box , have been turned down .They were more aggressive and took the attack to the opposition without any fear .

Portugal

I've said that i've been supporting Portugal in Euro 2008 ..... herez the main reason for it ....

Combined with the consistent and tactical coach , Scolari ...

Portugal is a FORCE to be reckoned with!!!

When i've seen the highlights of the opening two matches sequentially , I could clearly find out the difference in the class of the players from other sides . Portuguese moves are more creative and effective than the others. It might be due to the presence of quality players like Pepe , Ronaldo , Deco , Simao ,etc.

Euro 2008

Euro 2008 kicked off yesterday . I didn't watch the opening ceremony but watched the first match between the hosts,Sweden and Czech Republic .It is sad that England has not qualified for the tournament .These are the official logo and mascot of the tournament!

This table gives the information about the venues of different matches that are being held.

This is how the teams are distributed into groups .I am supporting Portugal this time....all my hopes on Ronaldo and Co.

The below picture shows both the home and away kits of all participating nations .

And finally, this is the ball that is going to be used throughout the tournament.

Hopefully, we would have a great tournament this time!!! And Portugal wins it all !!!

Environment Day

Today is the World Environment Day ... this day we hope to have a greener and healthier environment around us ... but how many of us take necessary steps to reach the goals set ???

Indiana Jones

I've recently watches this movie and the first thing you would praise in the film are the spectacular visual effects that have been implemented .Though , not as effective as the previous films .. this one is a pretty good film .

Do watch the movie and enjoy!

Are you still craving for more action??? Herez the lego version of the video game !!
:DDD

Travel

My brother left for his college today and i traveled quiet a distance around the city but ended up going nowhere .I mean , if i would go that distance on a straight road i might go half the distance to Hyderabad.

Cherish your own emotions and never undervalue them.

The advantage of the emotions is that they lead us astray, and the advantage of science is that it is not emotional.
No man has the right to dictate what other men should perceive, create or produce, but all should be encouraged to reveal themselves, their perceptions and emotions, and to build confidence in the creative spirit.
