Happy Diwali Everyone!

Diwali is the festival of lights. It is a festival that is celebrated by almost everyone in India, regardless of age, religion, region, etc. The feature of burning firecrackers makes it one of the most anticipated festivals, especially for kids. Last Diwali wasn't a one to remember, for me. Hope this Diwali brings joy and prosperity to everyone.

The Council

This semester, a group of people running the DC hubs have come together to form a committee. They made some common rules and restrictions to guide people how they should be using the DC. The download restrictions in BITS are the most serious problem that most people face while they are here. Every year, the authorities conduct surveys and other things but still nothing improves. I am thinking about the formation of a Council of Downloaders. There will be a group of people who will try satisfy the download needs of BITSian junta. The committee will consist of people interested games, movies, music, software, etc.


They will monitor the latest developments and the 'highly wanted' stuff will be downloaded for the people. The kind of censorship in our college is totally ridiculous. If an address or search term contains -movie,game,girl,etc.- they block it without any consideration.

Movie suggestions

If u are looking for some movie suggestions, try 'Fight club' or 'V for vendetta'. The best movies that I have watched in the last 3 days. In Hindi, you can try 'A Wednesday'. I have completed watching the second season of Kyle. So, I am now back to movies.

When U dont Mean It...Don't Say it!!

I had experienced a highly uncomfortable situation a few moments ago. But, it really showed me who are the people that really care. It was about going to a trip, for the night. I didn't know it until five minutes from the time of departure. people come in to ask for sweat shits and stuff but, no one asks me to join the camp. I do not know what you are thinking but, I think a lot about the silliest things in life. For me, life is much more than it appears. One of them comes and asks me to join but, I know he did it as formality. He knows that I am going to turn down the offer. That even worsened my psychological state. I am not crying over something here. I just feel very uncomfortable when involved in such 'acts'. What can I expect from people involved in politics? I guess the whole political system is a mess. It starts at the college level itself! So weird and frightening.

Anyway, I couldn't have enjoyed it. I know. This helped me make a three point scale for differentiation of people. The good, the human and the bad. I guess most of us fall under the human category, utilizing all the possible opportunities for personal benefits. Who knows how many new categories I should include for classification, in the future. This post is for my friend, who wants to know the real reason. I am not as lazy as I appear. It the ones who surround me that make me that way.

The reason!

When someone starts blogging, he thinks about the content he wants to post in his/her blog. I had observed that most engineering students seek to maintain a tech blog. The reasons might be varying. Even I started blogging in an almost similar fashion. My first blog was the 'GamiN blog' (the link is available in my blog list) -because of my obsession with games, of course . I wanted to post any game related information in it. But, then I realized that it would be a 'copy+paste' activity, which i did not like. It lacked originality. So, I gave up that idea and started writing this blog. At the moment, I am pretty satisfied with my work.

Oasis 2k8 Walls

New look!

One of my friends put up ads on my blog recently. But, the template did not impress me. Actually, I meddled with some of the page elements to make it even worse. So, I had then decided to search for a new template for my blog. Not long after, I found three templates which i liked. One of them is a modification of the classic 2 column template, achieved by inserting an extra column. But, the best one of all was this one, the one i am currently using. It is simple, yet that beautiful. I always wanted to design a custom header for the blog. This template gave me the opportunity. So, I used a wallpaper that i recently downloaded and the cool Unreal font to make the present header.

I am so obsessed with this template because it game me the opportunity to work my mind in designing a header. I have thought of designing one, a couple of months ago. But, I didn't have the motivation to do it. That too, my old template would have made the image even worse. :)

Here is the wallpaper that i used in designing the header. Gears of War 2 is coming Soon! but not for the pc. Sad! :(

No matter what people think, my opinion on Kyle is totally positive. It makes me feel good while watching it. What else do you need?

I want to get my hand on Bully™ as soon as possible. Eagerly waiting for it. If you are wondering why i am scribbling this up... 'I am bored'.

GaminG @ Oasis

There is also a gaming event scheduled this Oasis. But, for some reason i couldn't bring out the enthusiasm in me to participate. I just want to chill out, this Oasis. It might be my last Oasis@ BITS. So, I do not want to waste time waiting to play a match of FIFA. The competition is conducted for fifa, nfs, cs and dota.

Inaug

The inauguration ceremony of OASIS 2k8 was exceptionally good, expect the fact that the auditorium couldn't seat those many people. We had to stand for half of the show. There were uncomfortably long delays between events. The delays shouldn't have been there for calling up the members of the STUCCA body and chief guest. All the dances were good and the jokes in the first part of MIME were also good. The basketball match, football tricks and midget show performed by MIME club were really impressive!
